Cardston Ambassador Program
In partnership with the Friends Society Remington - Alberta Carriage Centre, Community Futures Alberta Southwest and the Town of Cardston, the Chamber applied for a grant from the Visitor Services Innovation Fund in 2017. We’re were happy to report that Alberta Culture & Tourism liked our proposal and awarded our community with a small grant. These funds allowed us to develop an Ambassador Program in Cardston.
In June 2017, we recruited locals that were passionate about the region and trained them to offer guided historical tours during the months of July, August and September. In the inaugural season we offered 3 types of tours:
- Horse Drawn Historic Pioneer Tours
- Walking Historical Sites Tours
- East Cardston Hutterite Colony Tours
We were very happy with the involvement of the community and tourists in our first summer running the program. Participant numbers will be available at the end of September 2017. In the coming months, the Chamber and our funding partners will conduct a full review of the Cardston Ambassador Program to determine what programming will be offered in 2018.
